Kris Koletar is originally from Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. He graduated cum laude from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey, with a B.A. in Criminal Justice, then worked for one year as a real estate paralegal with the law firm of Wilf & Silverman in Short Hills, New Jersey, in-house counsel to Garden Homes, Inc., one of the largest real estate development firms in the United States. He became the lead paralegal for the Canal Walk development, and ultimately became the Firm Administrator before leaving New Jersey to attend the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary. During his time at William & Mary, he served as a Research Assistant, was a member of the Sports & Entertainment Law Society, Federalist Society, and Therapeutic Jurisprudence Society, and volunteered his time with the Legal Skills program and annual Bone Marrow Drive.
Kris spent the last 5 years immediately prior to forming Koletar Law, PLC in 2011, at TrustBuilders Law Group in Yorktown, Virginia, one of the premiere estate and financial planning firms in the area, becoming the Managing Attorney of the Yorktown office and a shareholder in the firm before striking out on his own.
Kris lives in the Lee Hall area of Newport News with Cassondra Phillips, his fiancée. The couple plans to be married in May, 2012. Also crowding up the house are Cassie's three-year-old son, Peter, two needy cats, and a maniacal, hyperactive Corgi/Jack Russell mix.
